It’s important to look over each work at home company carefully to determine if it may be the right solution for you. Some work at home call center employers pay an hourly wage. Here are some things you should know if you are applying for a call center job:

~ Call center employees are usually paid either by the minute on the phone or by the hour. Generally wages run about $10.00 per hour, with less paid for training.
~ Raises are infrequent and generally small.
~ You are expected to be on the phone, with minimal breaks during your shift.
~ A zero noise tolerance is expected by most call centers. No barking dogs or crying kids in the background.
~ Health insurance benefits are usually minimal and often not a good value.
~ You don’t have to pay to drive to work, or for work clothes. You do have to pay for electricity to run your computer and for your phone line. You also have to provide a headset.
~ You will often have to pass a credit check (usually at your expense) and if you do not pass, you are not refunded the money. This usually runs about $40.00.
~ Many call center jobs are tough and demanding with company computer systems not always working correctly thus making your job more difficult.
~ There are a wide variety of call center companies and they have different personalities. Explore your options.

Sample jobs and pay:

~ $7.50 to write a review of 10 streets in CA.

~ $1.80 to write a 2 sentence comment on a blog.

~ $.85 to post 3 recipes

~$.01 to click yes or no when asked if a shown webpage relates to the topic given.

You can read through a list of HITS available to you and decide to accept or not. Once you complete the HIT, the requester will check your work and either approve it for payment or not approve it. This may take several minutes or it may take days.

Realistically it would be very difficult to make alot of money as an Amazon Mechanical Turk. If for example you work on a HIT that asks you to write several reviews and it takes you an hour and the pay is $4.00. Then you are working for $4.00 an hour. Or if you work at a HIT that pays one cent and it takes you 10 seconds. Then you will earn six cents every minute or $3.60 an hour.  You can make more, but it will take time and experience to find the jobs that you can do quickly that pay well.

Tutoring companies usually require a college education. Some require a teaching certificate, but will often accept a teaching certificate if it expired but not if it was revoked.

Each company operates differently. Some hire employees and pay an hourly wage, usually around $10.00 to start. Others have you work as an independent contractor and you have to collect fees from your students yourself.

A number of companies have tests you will have to pass in order to qualify and be hired. For example, you may have to pass a math test Many have role playing telephone interviews, where you will be aske what you would do in certain situations.

Tutoring online can be a rewarding, experience. Check into each comany and see which one feels right for you.

If you like the idea of working from home as a Virtual Assistant begin by making a list of skills you have. Are you skilled in real estate or data entry? Do you have marketing or paralegal skills? Decide what area you are qualified for.

Pay scales for Virtual Assistants range, with averages being around $30.oo an hour for skilled assistants. When you price your services, keep in mind, that you will rarely be offered benefits, insurance, sick pay or other perks.

Set up a home office with the equipment you will need. This may included a secure landline, copy and fax machines, computer etc.
If you are going to be working on the phone, you will want to make sure you have a quiet environment.

The next step is to market yourself so you can get a work at home job as a Virtual Assistant. You can call local companies and offer your services, look on Craigslist and/or use forums such as the Wahm.com, Virtual Assistant Forums.com and VirtualAssistantNetworking.com sites for support and to help you find a work at home job as a Virtual Assistant.

~ What do you know about the company?
~ Why would you like to work with the company?
~ Why would you make a great customer service representative?
~ How would you handle customers? (You may be asked to role play  situations).

Some of the tasks you may be requested to do during the interview;

~ Browse on the computer and locate different sites. For example you may be asked to locate a flower shop, look for an item and give its item number and price.

~Explain a few basic function keys

~ Open several windows and line them up side by side.
~ A lot of attention is put on the computer. You will most likely need to share either during the live interview or before the interview, the type of processor, speed, amount of RAM, screen resolution, windows version, freespace and antivirus programs my computer has.
~ You will most likely discuss your telephone and if your line can call into the companies service at no charge for work. This company required a grounded landline.

At the end of the interview, if you pass all the requirements, certain companies will require that you pay for a credit/background check, which runs about $40.00. Certain positions will also require that you are fingerprinted and/or have a blood test done. Once you have passed this process, you will very likely be offered a position!
