The type of work at Cloud Crowd varies but according to their FAQ

“Typical projects include image and video tagging, finding information online, and quick writing and editing projects. Work ranges in difficulty, and longer tasks typically pay more. With the variety of work offered, we’re sure you’ll find tasks you enjoy.”

Some of the jobs require that you pass a qualifications test. So you may have to edit a paragraph or do another job in order to get the qualifications to complete certain types of tasks.

One nice perk of working for CloudCrowd is being able to decide how long and when you want to work.  But the major perk is next day payment. For all jobs approved by 5pm PST payment is made the next business day.

The drawbacks are they do not appear to have a lot of work and payment is low. When I looked at the CloudCrowd  list I saw a few translation jobs, editing jobs and evaluating profiles on a social site but that was it. I would expect the job list will expand as the company grows.  Payment is low but if you need to make some extra cash it is a quick source.

So far CloudCrowd claims to have paid out for over 400,00 tasks and 18,000 people have signed up to be CloudCroud workers.

To join CloudCrowd you need two things a Paypal account and a Facebook account.  Why they have chosen to conduct their business via Facebook I am not sure but it is easy to sign up there and see the daily jobs. You can also sign up for alerts to be notified of new jobs.

My Lil Gold Dress heard the word earn cash with BigCrumbs and scurried over to check it out. BigCrumbs looks very promising. It is free and it looks like an easy way to earn cash. You earn cash back with BigCrumbs on your shopping and by getting referral commissions on the shopping of friends you referred. Your friends get cashback shopping and they can refer friends so everyone wins.

You start by signing up at BigCrumbs as either a CrumbSaver or a CrumbEarner. CrumbSavers get a higher ratio of cash back. CrumbEarners get a lower rate of cash back but they also earn on referrals and referrals of referrals up to 5 generations down. For example, if you had 5 referrals and they referred 5 others and so on, you could ultimately earn income on 3,905 referrals.

Squidoo is a free site where you create lenses. Each lens focuses on a topic of interest to you. You can create a lens on just about anything.

As you create your lenses with the easy modules Squidoo provides, you can select ways to use Squidoo for profit by adding Amazon, eBay, Cafe Press and other modules that Squidoo has available. You can also add your own affiliate links. Squidoo shares the profits from your lenses with you. You get 50%, Squidoo takes 45% and gives 5% to charity. If you are using your own affiliate links you keep all the earnings you make. Squidoo also has it set up so you can donate your earnings to charity if desired.

The key to making money with Squidoo is to provide quality content and drive traffic to your “lenses”. You can’t make a sale without traffic.

The first step to Squidoo for profit is to get a Squidoo account. Sign up here. Next be sure to change the global settings in your dashboard. You can elect to keep all the money or donate some or all of it to charity.

Then follow the easy steps Squidoo gives to create a lens. You can add photos, widgets, and more with the modules. Create lenses each week and you can grow your income.

Well my lenses that I spent quite a bit of time on were locked.  Apparently, they have stricter rules now on what is and is not allowed on Squidoo. It is unclear specifically what is and what is not allowed on Squidoo. At this point I would advise new Squidoo users to be sure your lens follows the new rules. You may want to use Squidoo to point links to your own website to drive traffic there or use the affiliate modules Squidoo provides so you are sure the affiliate link is allowed.

GREAT NEWS! My lenses were unlocked as meeting Squidoo criteria and they are back online.

Be sure to use a different email address than your regular one as you will receive a lot of mail. Check that address often (including the spam pile) so you do not miss deadlines for surveys.

CashCrate offers opportunities to try new products and take surveys. Payouts can be high and I have heard of people making thousands of dollars. Just be sure if you sign up for offers to cancel them if you don’t want them.

Opinion Surveys take a survey ever 24 hours earning an entry to win cash prizes including $50,000.

MrRebates is mainly a cash back shopping site but also offers cash for completing offers and trying new products.

Surveys are a fun way to make a few dollars online.  But if you fill out offers etc. be careful what you are signing up for.

Fiverr is a neat little site that allows you to list your services for others to buy. You earn a flat rate of $5 for each service you sell less Fiverr’s transaction fees.

Recently, Fiverr members were offering to review a website, send a postcard from China, make comments on your blog and much more.

It is easy to make money with Fiverr. Sign up for an account. Be sure to give yourself a name that is appropriate to the type of skills you will be selling.  Then simply add different “gigs” that you are willing to do for 5 bucks.

Though five dollars may not sound like much,  you will make money with fiverr by being consistent. One fiverr gig a day works out to an extra $150 in your pocket every month. Two a day gives you $300. Less transaction fees of course.

Let’s say you offer to send tips on saving money on taxes. If you write up a short report and email it out every time someone pays $5 for the information, it will take you just a few minutes each time and your fiverr gig could pay out very nicely over the long term.

You can also do skills that will require more time such as evaluating someone’s music, designing things etc. The choice is yours.

The truth is, there is a lot more involved in Mystery Shopping than a simple…mmmhmmm it was good or yes the store was clean.  Yes there are free meals, clothes and other goodies for Mystery Shoppers but it involves  paying close attention and reporting objectively on alot of nitty, gritty details.  If you complete  a Mystery Shop meal at a fast food restaurant you may be asked to;  time your server, report on the temperature of the food, the speed at which you got your check and the cleanliness of the establishment among other things.

There are a wide variety of mystery shopping companies and they specialize in different types of shops from restaurants to retail stores. Although there are some very upscale shops available, they are few and far between and involve tremendous work. A typical  Mystery shop would involve buying and returning something from a retail store and noting  store and transaction details.  Another typical Mystery shop might  involve evaluating a fast food chain. Was your food hot? How long did it take for service?  What was your servers name? Did the server ask you if you wanted the super size?  Were the floors clean? etc.

Pay for Mystery Shopping varies. Though some companies do pay a fee to the shopper. Others consider the food you ate or merchandise you received your payment. Keep in mind if you go over budget you are responsible for the difference in price. And if you dine out, or purchase something you usually have to pay up front and submit receipts to be reimbursed.

If you enjoy socializing and would love to earn while you chat, check out MyLot. MyLot is an online social site where members start discussions, respond to others and get paid for it. The pay is pennies but if you enjoy chatting at online forums why not get paid? Pennies add up.

MyLot has thousands of discussions and several hundred thousand members so there are many interesting threads. With so many choices you can choose to talk about gardening, parenting, making money, dating, whatever you enjoy, there is most likely a category for it on MyLot.

Sign up for a MyLot account here. Once you have joined, jump in the discussions. To make money your thread starter or response to a thread must be at least 3 to 4 sentences long. You don’t get paid to respond to your own threads and if you add pictures you get paid more. You also get paid to refer others to MyLot with a percentage of earnings from the time they spent on the site.

You are allowed to post links on MyLot also and it is encouraged. So you can post links to your blog, website, hub pages, eHow etc. The drawback is you cannot cut and paste a link untill you have earned a high number of points. So be consistent and visit MyLot frequently to earn points and pennies.
